It is important to distinguish between the terms product and brand.In practice they are often used interchangeably,although there are differences in meaning.A product is intended to meet the needs of buyers in the product market.

It may consist of objects,services,organizations,places,people and ideas.This view of the product covers a wide range of situations,including tangible goods and intangible services.

A name,term,design,symbol or any other feature that identifies one seller's good or service as distinct from those of other sellers.The legal term for brand is trademark.

Strategic brand management consists of building brand value and managing he organization's system of brands for overall performance.

Strategic brand management involves the design and implementation of marketing programs and activities to build,measure and manage brand equity.
